Teaching Philosophy

‘I offer instruction in guitar, ukulele, and bass, ranging from basic to advanced levels. My teaching philosophy centers on making the learning process enjoyable and engaging for all students. I welcome learners of all ages, starting from 6 years old up to adults, and cater to all skill levels, from complete beginners to advanced players. My goal is to ensure that every student finds joy in their musical journey.’

What You Learn:

Students are taught a range of skills:

  1. Tuning methods to stay in tune and sound great before you begin
  2. Reading guitar tablature to easily learn well known tunes and songs
  3. Learning classic guitar songs or request your own favourite songs
  4. Playing picking and strumming patterns that work for most popular songs
  5. Mastering essential open chords or advanced bar chords
  6. Understanding music theory so you know more about your playing
  7. Jamming scales and improvisation techniques for intermediate and advanced players
  8. Writing your own songs and songwriting tips for beginners to advanced students
  9. Singing along to the songs we learn and singing tips if you want too
  10. Asking questions to learn what you need to know for your ability level
